Saturdays & Sundays
The first Sunday of the month is band day at the Woolpack. Starting from 4pm one of our resident bands will give you a cracking day out. All the bands have a great mix of tracks on their playlist, ranging from the relaxing Sunday afternoon music in the first set, to getting you up and dancing into the evening for the second set.
You should also watch out for our Saturday gigs, which bring a livlier tone for those wanting to enjoy the most of the weekend after a busy week at work.

The Nerds

More Details +The Nerds are the perfect band to liven up your evening. They cover all styles of music from Rock n Roll to Pop. Whether you're a die-hard 'Stones' fan or a 'Disco-Diva', The Nerds will get you up on the dance floor and keep you there. The Nerds have now been playing at The Woolpack for over 5 years, and they always draw big crowds so make sure you get here early.

Empress

More Details +Empress are a female fronted rock band playing an exciting mix of rock songs from the top artists of the last thirty years. They have a fantastic variation of songs ranging from Pink and Sheryl Crow, to Metallica and The Killers! Fairly newly established they are making a name for themselves around the band circuit, and we are proud to have them as one of our own!

Higher Ground

More Details +Higher Ground have been one of our resident bands from when bands first started playing in the Woolpack. Back then they were known as The Crown Jewels, now as Higher Ground they continue to entertain the masses with their brilliant performances of classics from The Beatles, The Kinks, Paul Rodgers, The Rolling Stones and many more legendary tracks from the 60's through to the 80's.

Pub Poker
The first Wednesday of every month is poker night in the Woolpack. We run a texas hold 'em poker tournament for up to 20 players where you could win up to £100. It starts at 8pm and should be finished no later than 11.30pm, and all it costs is £5 with the winner taking the full pot. Whether you're a circuit pro or you've never played before it doesn't matter as anyone can play as long as you are over 18 and bring an attitude to have fun and enjoy the night.
We also have special Sunday afternoon games, so watch out for the next one.

Cask Ale
Cask Marque Accredited
At the Woolpack we are very proud of our cask ales and we take great care to ensure that every pint we serve is perfect. Because of this, our efforts have been rewarded with an accreditation to Cask Marque, an independent body who came and tested our beers on separate unannounced visits and thought our cask ales were good enough to join their elite group.
Guest Ales
We also offer seasonal and themed guest ales specially selected for their qulaity and unique blends. We are part of SIBA and always promote small independant brewers, so keep an eye out for what we have to offer.

Timothy Taylors Landlord
Classic Strong Pale Ale 4.3% ABV
After lots of request's we finally decided to put the famous Landlord on tap. A Classic Strong Pale Ale, Landlord has won more awards nationally than any other beer: This includes four times as Champion at the Brewers' International Exhibition and four times as CAMRA's beer of the year.Refreshingly reliable, nationally renowned, this full drinking Pale Ale with a complex and hoppy aroma has real "Pulling Power" and stands out in any bar as the ideal regular.

Copper Dragon Golden Pippen
Refreshing Blonde Ale 3.9% ABV
From the popular Skipton based brewery is the wonderfully light Golden Pippen. We initially got this in for the summer as it gives the cask ale drinker something a bit more refreshing, but instead we are seeing lager drinkers switching to cask for the first time!It's a light refreshing blonde ale brewed using a specially selected hop to create a citrus fruit flavour. This golden coloured favourite is equally appealing to real ale and lager drinkers alike.

Greene King IPA
Brilliant Session Ale 3.6%
Lots of people say they like this fine ale because it's well balanced with a refreshing, hoppy flavour and a clean, bitter finish. Greene King create the hoppy aroma and flavour using two varieties of English hop – Challenger and First Gold. The refreshing flavour of Greene King IPA makes it a great beer to enjoy at anytime and is ideal for a session ale.IPA is also part of our Football Deals package, and we offer it at only £2.75 at certain times - Cask Marque quality for less than £3, brilliant!

Function Room
We are proud to offer our private function room out for hire for whatever your requirement. In the past the room has been used for weddings, birthdays, funerals, christenings and even a Christmas party! The room has a capacity of 70 people, but we recommend 50 for a nice fit. The room is £100 with your own private bar or £60 without the bar. If you require catering we are happy for you to provide your own food, or we can arrange it from one of our trusted suppliers.
The room is also used for meetings as we have the facilities for presentations through our projector. If you want to book the room for a regular slot we charge £30 per meeting, or £250 for the year (that being 12 meetings). Meetings can be anytime from 10am to 9pm. To hire the room for a full day, or to have tea and coffee provided, please contact us for further information.

Competitive Quiz
Every Tuesday from 9pm
Every Tuesday from 9pm we have our classic & competitive pub quiz. Our quiz master, Steve, runs you through 3 rounds of 20 mind-boggling quiz questions. Each quiz carries a cash prize of £10, with an additional theme quiz with a prize of £5. The quiz is by no means easy and will put you through your paces with some brilliant brain teasers. Entry is £1 per player and we welcome both teams and individuals.
We also run an accumulator where one correct answer could win you up to £50!
Fun Quiz
Third Thursday of the Month
New to The Woolpack is our Thursday Fun Quiz. It still has you scratching your head to work out the answers, but with a picture quiz, a musical round, 2 sets of general knowledge questions and a mystery round, it brings a little fun to your Thursday night.
We also have prize draws and raffles throughout - including the ongoing box of wealth! All the takings from raffle tickets go into the box, and one of the five keys will open it. Every week one lucky raffle winner will get the chance to wopen the box!
Entry for the fun quiz is free, and there are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The Woolpack Almondbury
The Woolpack is set in the picturesque Yorkshire village of Almondbury, on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The building was part of the centre of Almondbury when it used to be a big market town (bigger than Huddersfield) and it still has the old timber beams that held it together. Over the years the Woolpack has developed into a typical village pub acting as the hub of the community. Whether its a nice cold pint of lager or a refreshing long drink we have a wide product range.
